Touchdown Dance weekend workshop
Touchdown Dance workshops are uniquely devised to bring visually Impaired and sighted people together in movement and dance.
LOCATION– Natural Theatre, Widcombe Institute, Widcombe Hill, Bath, BA2 6AA
April 8-9th 2017 from 11- 5p.m. each day with a lunch break.
Cost £60 for the weekend or £30 for a day.
Touchdown Dance workshops are an experience! Based in yoga, dance and movement disciplines you discover a greater awareness of your body, posture and range of movement potential.
We demonstrate and teach exercises, partnering and group explorations that are fun and intended to deepen your trust in your ability to move through space, improved orientation skills and general confidence in physical participatory activity.
We work with principles from somatic movement education – Body-Mind Centering®, and specialist methods developed over many years of research since 1986. Contact Improvisation involves working in physical contact with others to sense and feel our own weight, energy, and our ability to move together safely. Touchdown dance specialist workshop leaders are visually impaired and sighted.
-Touchdown Dance works in collaboration with Action for Blind, Henshaws Society for the Blind, SENSE, and many other organisations, nationally and internationally.
-Guide Dogs welcome and a walking area along the canal is a 5 minute walk from the building.
