Clarinet, Piano, voice
For the last 12 years I have been exploring improvised music as creative expression. I had never been taught how to improvise during the time of formal musical study, however it has opened up a new dimension to music-making that now I can’t imagine doing without.
My own music is deeply nourished by the time I spend in nature among hills, mountains and rivers. Travel in Southern and Eastern Europe, Turkey, Morocco and India, has enriched my musical horizons.
My main instruments are clarinet and piano; my performances also incorporate voice, singing bowls, saz and sruti box.
In the last few years I have been teaching music to both children and adults. I’m happy to be able to share the gifts that music has brought me, and wish the pleasure of listening to and playing music to be available to as many people as possible.
