DESCRIPTION:\n\nAn event held at Willow Dance Studio\, St Werburghs Primary
  School on Saturday 5th October. Doors are at 09:30 with entertainment sta
 rting at 10:00. The event finishes at 17:30.\n\nIn this weekend intensive 
 we will begin by learning about the alignment of the knee joint. We will h
 ave access to a model skeleton as well as images\, information and discuss
 ion. This theoretical exploration will serve as a foundation for sensory e
 xploration of functional alignment. Through the weekend we may expand our 
 view to the relationship of the knee to the ankle\, hip and spine. The ove
 rall aim is for each individual to build personal sensory references of in
 tegrated joint function to apply in their life as a mover\, whatever form 
 that takes.\n\nThe first day of the workshop will focus on fundamental ali
 gnment principles. We will utilise improvisation and short movement motifs
  to practice these\, and to observe and develop our movement habits.\n\nTh
 e second day will be a chance to ‘workshop’ these principles in a mini
  individual project\, eg - How do these principles serve me to: lift my ba
 by from the ground\, skip-rope\, do … dance move?\nParticipants may arri
 ve knowing their project\, join another project\, or discover one on the d
 ay.\n\nThis will be an opportunity for group learning. How this evolves wi
 ll be responsive to the group and there may an opportunity to expand into 
 more dynamic dancing or yet to be discovered fun!\n\nHealthy dynamic align
 ment can offers us the opportunities for more ground\, play and power in o
 ur movement practice - whether that’s as a parent\, climber\, dancer\, s
 urfer\, runner etc… As such this workshop is open to any human with a bo
 dy.\n\nAbout your teacher\;\nZoë is a dancer/mother/teacher/Osteopath and
  activist. She has performed for Felix Ruckert\, Tino Seghal and Simonetta
  Alessandri among others.\n\nZoë qualified to teach Axis Syllabus univers
 al motion principles in 2008\, when teaching she combines this knowledge w
 ith anatomical understanding from her work as an osteopath with dancers an
 d athletes. She has taught at major dance centres and schools in the U.K. 
 and internationally. Her eclectic training in medicine and bodywork\, and 
 a dance background including improvisation\, tango\, folkdance and contemp
 orary inform her embodied approach to functional movement pedagogy.\n\nNee
 d to know info\;\nDoors open at 9.30am for a 10.00am start\, please arrive
  on time.\n\nPlease wear comfortable clothes to move in.\nPlease bring wat
 er and food\, some refreshments will be provided. There will be a 90m lunc
 h break should you wish to go to town for food\, there are plenty of shops
  nearby.\n\nYou may wish to bring warm layers\, a yoga mat or something so
 ft to lie on should we do bodywork.\n\nA notepad and pen is also worth bri
