DESCRIPTION:Beginner friendly pre-jam warmup class 5-6:30pm followed by the
  jam 6:30-8:30pm. Doors will be closed for the duration of the class to ke
 ep the focus\, so please arrive early to attend the class\, you can arrive

 \n\nInspired by last week’s class by Bryn Thomas\, this week’s class w
 ill focus on taking our attention inside the “room of our own bodies” 
 and practicing detailed awareness from within.\nHow can we attain a high l
 evel of presence with the partner and the dancing landscape all around whe
 n we subtract the dominant sense - our vision?\nParticipants will be guide
 d through simple\, kinetically low and slow exercises to explore and accus
 tom to the intimate experience of being BLINDFOLDED. As we take our vision
  out of the experience\, will heighten other senses - mostly the skin. The
  skin excursion dance scores will facilitate this\, and help us connect\, 
 listen\, lead\, be surprised.\nCan we still have a sense of continual cont
 ribution to a larger emerging body of improvisation beyond our own skinesp
 heres\, in the room full of blindfolded movers?\nSoft eye mask covers will
  be provided and sighted spotters will watch out for the blindfolded dance
 rs safety.\n\nThe Jam\nA jam is an informal gathering of dancers. There is
  no teacher\, but space and time to develop skills and confidence. You are
  free to dance\, rest\, or sit and watch\, as you wish. The jam provides a
 n opportunity to explore and integrate techniques you have learned\, and t
 o find your own routes into dancing.\n\nAt some jams a teacher will facili
 tate a score to follow such as a focused (silent) jam\, the Underscore (de
 veloped by Nancy Stark-Smith)\, or a blindfold (or eyes-closed) jam\, this
  will normally be advertised via our regular mailout – so sign-up if you
  want advance notice.\n\n 	Live musicians will improvise with the dancing
