 nday we will gather with no clear idea of what will come together out of u
 s actively initiating ways to interact in movement and changing states of 
 energy\, making an ever emerging composition .\n\nWe will have a frame of 
 the Underscore to support us\, within which relaxing\, efforting\, intensi
 fying\, letting go\, moving from fluids\, tracking space with parts of our
  body are all compositional choices.\n\n*The CI is a conversation of the t
 wo bodies in a physical contact playing with physical forces that govern t
 he body.\n** The Underscore is a framework for practising Contact Improvis
 ation Dance in its broader applications\, invented by Nancy Stark Smith. I
 t offers an opportunity to express the felt kinesthetic selves and the art
 istic compositional selves as dancers improvise and create movement togeth
 er and in and out of relation to the whole.\n\n"There are 20+ phases of th
 e score—each with a name and a graphic symbol—which create a general m
 ap for the dancers. Within that frame\, dancers are free to create their o
 wn movements\, dynamics\, and relationships—with themselves\, each other
 \, the group\, the music\, and the environment. Each Underscore is unique\
 , providing rich and often inspiring experiences of the human and artistic
  phenomena of dance improvisation." (Global Underscore blog).\n\nIt is a l
 ong dance improvisation score and usually takes 3-4 hours. We are going fo
 r a 3.5 hr timeframe\, inclusive of approximately 30 mins talk through the
  score for those who are unfamiliar with the Underscore (must attend!).\nT
 hen at around 5:30 we will all come together at around 5:30 pm in the Asse
 mbly (first stage) followed by a Small Dance and next stages of the Unders
 core.
