SUMMARY:Bristol CI: Sunday Class & Jam - DMAC\, (4th Floor) Hamilton House

DESCRIPTION:Beginner friendly pre-jam warmup class 5-6.30pm followed by the
  jam 6.30-8.30pm. Doors will be closed for the duration of the class to ke
 ep the focus\, so please arrive early to attend the class\, you can arrive
  at any time for the jam. Dancers can come just for the class\, £6\, or s

 . We send out regular emails of class descriptions\, to get these\, please
  sign-up to our mailing list.\nClass Description\n\nThe class will begin
  with a fairly intense warm-up focusing on core stability and body conditi
 oning. After the warm-up\, we will then investigate principles of rolling 
 on the floor and expand this through different tasks such as handstands / 
 backbends and upside-down techniques (solo and with a partner). The second
  half of class will then focus on the most essential practices in CI\, inc
 luding: the physical forces of gravity\, levity\, momentum\; aerial and ac
 robatic work\; rolling points of contact.\n\nMaga Radlowska is a contact i
 mprovisation dancer\, performer\, choreographer\, improviser and teacher\,
  graduating from the London Contemporary Dance School and from Middlesex U
 niversity in London with an MA in Choreography. Maga has fifteen years pro
 fessional experience in contemporary dance\, physical theatre\, contact im
 provisation and improvisation\, and has created and performed in many piec
 es in international festivals across Europe and the Middle East. Maga has 
 worked with companies\, dancers and choreographers as diverse as Jose Vida
 l Company\, Bettina Carpi\, Paweł Matyasik and Nadar Rosano. In 2013 and 
 2014 Maga performed for Zawirowanie Dance Theatre in Israel\, Sweden\, Lit
 huania\, Ukraine\, Hungary\, Germany\, Croatia and Portugal. She has been 
 taught by Melissa Monteros\, Wojciech Mochniej\, Gabriella Koch\, Nita Lit
 tle\, Ray Chung\, Daniel Kramer\, Frauke Requardt\, Robert Anderson\, Katy
  Dymoke\, Simonetta Allesandri\, Rick Nodine\, Charlie Morrissey\, Thomas 
 Kampe and Andrew Harwood. Maga has been nominated for scholarships and won
  several awards\; most recently winning first prize in the Warsaw Polish P
 latform Choreography Contest. Her award-winning work in the community sect
 or has been presented across Europe and attracted interest from national m
 edia. Maga was co-organiser for ECITE 2013 in Poland and also co-directs a
 nd choreographs the annual International Festival of Dance in Poland. She 
 regularly teaches CI workshops and classes in London\, and also teaches CI
  at Middlesex University. Most recently she taught at the Freiburg CI Fest
 ival in Germany.\n\n\nThe Jam\nA jam is an informal gathering of dancers. 
 There is no teacher\, but space and time to develop skills and confidence.
  You are free to dance\, rest\, or sit and watch\, as you wish. The jam pr
 ovides an opportunity to explore and integrate techniques you have learned
 \, and to find your own routes into dancing.\n\nAt some jams a teacher wil
 l facilitate a score to follow such as a focused (silent) jam\, the Unders
 core (developed by Nancy Stark-Smith)\, or a blindfold (or eyes-closed) ja
 m\, this will normally be advertised via our regular mailout – so sign-
 up if you want advance notice.\n\n 	Live musicians will improvise with
