As it is bonfire night that night we will have a little (somatic) bonfire theme going on - details to be revealed at the t ime. PLEASE DO NOT BRING ANY EXPLOSIVES WITH YOU THO! :)\n\nThere will be live improvised music from Mark Langford playing bass clarinet and tenor s ax.\n\nWHO:\nDancers\, Improvisers\, dance poets\, performing artists will all find it an inspiring source of self discovery and creativity. All lev els of moving experience welcome! If you want to improve your presence in the Jams or expand your dancing vocabulary - Underscore can support this f ully.\n\nWHAT:\nIn Nancy's words:\n"The Underscore is a vehicle for incorp orating Contact Improvisation into a broader arena of improvisational dan ce practice\; for developing greater ease dancing in spherical space—alo ne and with others\; and for integrating kinesthetic and compositional con cerns while improvising. It allows for a full spectrum of energetic and ph ysical expressions\, embodying a range of forms and changing states. Its p ractice is familiar yet unpredictable."\n\n\nPRACTICALITIES:\nThe practice is usually 3-4 hours long. We are going to create 3 hours for this\, incl uding reflection time. To support your dance practice we will have a music ian from 6:30 pm onwards.\n\n\nWHAT YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED TO KNOW BEFORE COM ING\nIf you are completely new to the practice (or need a refresher) pleas e come at 5:00 pm for an approximately 30 minutes talk - through the score . I promise I try to make it as interesting as I can. This will take place in the lobby just outside the dance studio.\nIf you are seasoned Undersco re practitioner or have sat for a talk though once in your life\, please c ome for 5:30 pm at which point we will be transitioning from the lobby to the studio to begin with the Assembly. \n\n\nNOTE: There won't be an oppo rtunity to join in at 6:30 pm- ususal time for the Jam in original class/j am format.
