DESCRIPTION:Date:  Starts Wednesday 18th September\nTime: 7pm - 9pm\nVen
 ue: The Willow Studio\, St Werburghs Primary School\nCost: £50 for all 
 or £10/£8 (conc) drop-in\nLed by: Saskia Chaplin\n\nStarting on Wednesd
 ay 18th September for 7 consecutive weeks. A weekly two-hour class explor
 ing the basics of contact improvisation.\n\nContact Improvisation\nCI is a
 n improvised dance form that fine tunes your senses and wakes up your abil
 ity to listen and respond to what is happening in the moment. Open to all 
 bodies and inquiring minds.\n\nSome of the fundamentals we will explore in
  this course include\; the rolling point of contact\, weight exchange\, ba
 sic lifts\, leading &amp\; following\, ways to say yes\, no\, and maybe\, 
 spirals\, the small dance\, safety\, and more.\n\nPracticals\nThis course 
 is suitable for complete beginners and those wanting to revisit the fundam
 entals. It is ideal to attend the whole course\, at a cost of just £50. H
 owever\, drop-in is also possible at £10 per class (£8 concessions)\n\nE
 ach class will include a led warm-up at the start and warm-down at the end
 \, a focus on CI fundamentals\, and time for questions\, discussion and fe
 edback.\n\nPlease bring loose comfortable clothing\, with a warm layer to 
 start and end in\, kneepads if you have them (I will bring a few pairs for
  sale\, £10 per pair)\, and water (though there is access to tap water).\

 \nFirst contact – first finding our connection to the floor we will exp
 lore the use of push\, roll\, and slide in contact with the floor and our 
 partners to make first contact in the dance\n\nWeek 2:\nFollow the leader
  – using exercises to offer direction\, leading and following our partn
 ers in space\n\nWeek 3:\nGive and take – giving and taking weight\, cou
 nterbalance\, using weight\, and exploring how to say yes/no through our b
 odies\n\nWeek 4:\nUp – exploring some simple lifts\, the table\, hip li
 fts\, etc\, and finding movement with weight exchange\n\nWeek 5:\nThe Cent
 re – moving from our centres\, offering and taking lifts\, leading and 
 following from centre\n\nWeek 6:\nSpiralling Softly – finding pathways 
 from\, to\, and with\, the floor and our partners\n\nWeek 7:\nBringing it 
 all together – following our 7-week journey this class will revisit wha
