DESCRIPTION:Contact Improvisation is based on the physical exploration of h
 ow the body moves through its own intelligence and how two or more bodies 
 in contact with each other can move together. A dance that fine tunes your
  senses and wakes up your ability to listen and respond to what is happeni
 ng in the moment. Sometimes wild and athletic\, sometimes quiet and medita
 tive\, and all levels in between. It is a form open to all bodies and inqu
 iring minds.\n\nThe class will be led from 6 - 7.30pm leading into open ja
 m from 7.30pm - 8.15pm. This is a single session running from 6 - 8:15. Pl
 ease be on time or you might not be able to take part.\nClass Description\
 nHow does this body want to move?\n\n\n\n“To learn Contact Improvisation
  is to learn how to pose a question” (Daniel Lepkoff).\n\nIn this class 
 we will begin to investigate the skill of tapping into body questions as e
 xpressed by the mind.\nSubtle solo and coupled body work as our first prac
 tice will soften our kinesthetic and sensory body mind complex. Then we’
 ll use body as archive and see what happens when movement meets attention 
 meets memory. We’ll be invited to get curious about our habitual pattern
 s of movement and asked to re-invent them. Simple spinal scores and workin
 g with the gravitational centre will aid this exploration.\nAll levels of 
 experience and abilities welcome and participants are asked to bring their
  natural curiosity with them.\n\nThe last Sunday of each month will be an 
 open jam from 6 - 8:15pm with a live musician.\n\nThese Sunday sessions ar
 e run and taught by a community of contact dancers. Classes are open to al
 l levels and generally led by a different teacher each week.\n\nParticipan
 ts are responsible for their own safety and wellbeing in the jam. Take car
 e to be alert and sensitive to yourself and others. The organisers cannot 
 accept responsibility or liability for injury.
