DESCRIPTION:Contact Improvisation is based on the physical exploration of h
 ow the body moves through its own intelligence and how two or more bodies 
 in contact with each other can move together. A dance that fine tunes your
  senses and wakes up your ability to listen and respond to what is happeni
 ng in the moment. Sometimes wild and athletic\, sometimes quiet and medita
 tive\, and all levels in between. It is a form open to all bodies and inqu
 iring minds.\n\nThe class will be led from 6 - 7.30pm leading into open ja
 m from 7.30pm - 8.15pm.\n\nHow do we know when we are doing contact improv
 isation?\n\n\nLisa will investigate her approach to CI through an explorat
 ion of Steve Paxton's forms and puzzles\, and offering other sequences for
  moving in and out of contact with each other. Lisa is interested in ways 
 in which we can take responsibility for the distribution of weight in our 
 bodies\, and the sensibilities around weight exchange between our bodies.\
 n\nThe last Sunday of each month will be an open jam from 6 - 8:15pm with 
 a live musician.\n\nThese Sunday sessions are run and taught by a communit
 y of contact dancers. Classes are open to all levels and generally led by 
 a different teacher each week.\n\nParticipants are responsible for their o
 wn safety and wellbeing in the jam. Take care to be alert and sensitive to
  yourself and others. The organisers cannot accept responsibility or liabi
 lity for injury.
