DESCRIPTION:\n\nWe invite you to reconnect to your movement through your at
 tention to breath\, your organs and internal landscape.\nBeginning from th
 e ground up\, we find trust with gravity\, exploring movement from evoluti
 onal &amp\; developmental patterns. How do our radial sea relatives breath
 e\, move and process? How did we as babies develop our desires to move/sup
 port ourselves in our body tone?\n\nWe begin class with an open-ended expl
 oration\, drawing on imagery\, breath and anatomical pathways. We play wit
 h softness and strength.\n\nWe invite you to connect with each other spati
 ally through improvisational puzzles that celebrate our individual differe
 nces and choices.. This becomes a springboard to free improvisational dyna
 mic dancing.\nYou can drop-in\, or come regularly - the more sessions you 
 attend\, the more you will build your personal archive of ways to move\; c
 omplementing your dance expression\, and assisting with easier lifting of 
 children (!)\, shopping and heavy objects\, navigating our relational spac
 e\, easier breathing\, and clubbing without taking your knees out…\n\nAb
 out your teachers:\nJan-Ming is a dancer\, musician and somatic educator. 
 She has been performing\, teaching and facilitating groups for over 15 yea
 rs\, creating interactive experiences that focus on empathy and communicat
 ion in a world of social and cultural differences. She is a certified prac
 titioner of somatic bodywork (The Pantarei Approach) and is informed by he
 r studies in contemporary dance\, physical theatre\, contact improvisation
 \, qigong\, axis syllabus\, experiential anatomy and somatic movement prac

 erapist. She has been performing and creating professionally for 17 years 
 since completing a BA Dance Theatre at Laban. Her movement training has in
 cluded contemporary dance\, physical theatre\, experiential anatomy\, aeri
 al\, Chinese pole\, partner acrobatics\, contact improvisation and martial
  arts. She is a qualified remedial and sports massage therapist\, her prac
 tice is informed by her training in Body Mind Centering and somatic moveme
