From the skin to the bone\, we can feel the layers of our body pa rts and find the anchors that allow us to be present in the moment and to go deeper towards/into each other.\n\nWith instructions that derive from e xperiential anatomy\, somatic practices and holistic approach\, we focus o n the raising awareness and the presence of the partners’ bodies. We thu s add to our explorations the internal functions of human action and inter action. \n\nEventually\, we “play” with the incredible properties of t he body: when it functions as an entity\, its ability to vary its shape wi thout breaking\, the helix-like and spiral movements created by the joints \, its infinite kinetic chains it can produce (mobius strip)\, and much mo re.\n\nSuitable for dancers who have some previous experience of contact i mprovisation.\n\nTeti Nikolopoulou is a dancer\, choreographer\, researche r\, dance and physical education teacher\, with a somatic approach to both choreography and dance education. After her graduation she took lessons a t the Movement Research studio\, Merce Cunningham studio\, Paul Taylor stu dio and Alvin Ailey Studio\, in New York City and at Laban Centre\, London .\n\nAmong others\, she has attended lessons and seminars in release techn iques and improvisation with David Zabrano\, Thomas Mettler\, Gwen Wellive r\, Maxine Heppner\, and Axis Syllabus with Frey Faust\, Timos Zechas and others. Since 2000\, she has trained in contact improvisation (CI) with Ch ristina Klissiouni and she has participated in seminars of the practice wi th Nancy Stark Smith\, Nitta Little\, Daniel Lepkoff\, Benno Voorham\, Cha rly Morissey and others.\n\nShe has been awarded as a young choreographer and she has received grants from the Ministry of Culture in 2005\, 2007\, 2017-18\, 2018-19 and 2021-22. She has a PhD related to contact improvisat ion. She has been teaching contact improvisation for more than 15 years. S he gives CI lessons and lectures about somatic approach to dance in severa l professional dance schools in Greece and at conferences. She was a guest teacher in 2019’s Freiburg international contact improvisation festival .\n\nAnima - soma (1992) is a contemporary dance company that specializes in dance creation and dance archiving.
