DESCRIPTION:Beginner friendly pre-jam warmup class 5.30-6.30pm followed by 
 the jam 6.45-8.30pm. Dancers can come just for the class\, £5\, or stay f

 s Description\nRelating to the Bristol CI guidelines on 'Safety'\, specifi
 cally: "We encourage you to cultivate patient curiosity\, and a soft and s
 upple relationship with the floor."\n\nThis class will be a focused explor
 ation of movement that flows from the skull down the spine\, called 'Ser
 pentine' (Steve Paxton/Nancy Stark Smith). Following subtle multidirection
 al circles and spirals using the weight of the skull and the movement impu
 lses of the spine\, the dance flows into and grows out of the floor with s
 oftness and ease. With partners we will explore some duet possibilities li
 stening to the skull and spine to lead into fluid dancing with momentum.\n
 \nMary Pearson is an interdisciplinary performance maker\, dancer\, teache
 r and improviser based in Liverpool. In 2005 she co-founded Fool's Proof T
 heatre\, which has toured nationally internationally in the UK/USA with th
 eir devised work. She teaches ongoing CI and performance classes in Liverp
 ool in association with members of Liverpool Improvisation Collective (LIC
 ).
