Cl ass theme still brewing...\n\nPlaying with Energy\n\nStarting from a place of meeting another person with a simple handshake and moving into ki wres tling\, we will warm up by exploring principles of energy which can be use d to extend awareness including: staying awake while falling\, expanding o ur sense of space in the upside down world\, and using playful but powerfu l resistance to move with our environment.\n\nMalaika Sarco-Thomas is a re searcher\, teacher\, performer and writer of improvisation practices in va rious contexts including theatres\, contact improvisation jams and with li ving plants in outdoor locations.  As a researcher she investigates prin ciples introduced in the practice of Ki Aikido and in the work of improvis ation artists including Kirstie Simson\, Michael Schumacher\, Charlie Morr issey\, David Zambrano\, Lucia Walker\, Jess Curtis and Danny Lepkoff.  M alaika is senior lecturer and award leader for the BA Honours Dance progra mme at University College Falmouth\, and with Richard Sarco-Thomas organis es weekly Wednesday contact jams at The Performance Centre\, Tremough Camp us\, Cornwall.
