The joy and desire to connect to someone else is enabled through one’s own grounding, clarity of attention and presence. As the patterns that inform our connections to others and our environment start within ourselves, we take this session for an intuitive and playful integration of a variety of these developmental patterns to gain a freedom in our own movement that others are naturally part of at all times. The aim is to feel how moving by oneself and moving with others is in many ways the same thing and to understand what changes when we come in and out of contact.
Laura Doehler has taught CI for about 20 years in London and across Europe. She applies it regularly as part of her work at the National Centre for Circus Arts where she trains circus artists to make sense of movement by doing and by crafting performances. Her love of contact and dance is very much rooted in the desire to feel free to move and connect, to playfully open up new ways of being and relating. Laura is also director of the non-profit company Exit Map that employs movement to inspire social and environmental change.
