UPDATE: instead of a closed 4-week series, I am now offering two open drop-in classes on Tues 29 March and Tues 12 April: 8-9.30pm.
These two classes aim to hone our dance improvisation skills as solo and ensemble, witnessing each other; through different ways in –
These include spatial tuning of ourselves and each other, imagination and impulse, body memory, musicality and rhythm, voice improvisation in relation to movement, energetic and tactile awareness with surfaces, atmospheres and other humans.
You are welcome to book for just one class, or even better, for both classes! I do recommend joining both classes as it can help weave your daily living into our studio explorations, drop any juicy insights back into the space, potentially creating more connection between us dancers.
Level: all welcome – everyone who wants to enquire and attend to their body-based skills through space, and a curiosity to witness each other and be witnessed
Cost per drop-in class:
£12 (£10 concession)
£18 for both classes booked together
Location: Willow Studio, St Werburgh’s Primary School, James Street St Werburgh’s, Bristol, BS2 9US
BOOKING ESSENTIAL – please send a payment via paypal to (select Trusted/Friends & Family option) and send an email to let me know you’ve done that! (Alternatively, you can use bank transfer – email to ask for details!)
If you have any questions at all or any requests or needs, please feel free to email and I will do my best to meet them.
The studio is accessible on the ground floor and there is an accessible toilet next to the studio. I aim to create a class where explorations and exercises are adaptable to each individual’s pace, energy, choices of movement and encourage a culture of care and empathy for each dancers’ individual health and limits. Please get in touch to let me know if there is anything specific you need in the space to help you feel free and resourced.
