A 5 hour Contact Improvisation workshop all about Under and Over dancing
Sunday 3rd of Nov, 12-5pm – Bristol

What do we need to move from a static back and forth dance, to a more active
support of our partners movement? In our research we have been particularly interested in reversing stereotypical roles and exploring what Sole’s smaller structure needs to lift Mark’s bigger structure. This has helped us to focus on particular principles and fundamentals of being both under and over dancers. We will start gently, using experiential anatomy and early developmental movement patterns based on Body-Mind Centering®, to then explore how we can free up our weight sharing into a more dynamic dance. Pivoting, reaching, pushing and dancing our way into three dimensionality…

This workshop is open to all levels. You can expect a mixture of somatic explorations, technical labbing and open dance scores. Please contact us if you have any access needs. (Body-Mind Centering® and BMC® are registered service marks of Bonnie Bainbridge
Cohen).

Sunday 3rd of November 2024, 12-5pm – St. Werburgh’s Primary School, Bristol
