A new 12 week series of classes that will focus on deeper understanding of the internal structure of the spine and its interconnection with the rest of the body.

Each week will begin with a invitation to slow down and drop into the body. We will use somatic approaches to learn about the body through experience. From here we will continue on to specific contact improvisation skills and into dancing.

Classes can be attended on a drop in basis. There is however a benefit in committing to the whole series

Weeks 1-4 Discovering the Spine

Becoming aware of the internal structure with in us, meeting our spine, Embodied anatomy, bodywork into movement, moving from and finding the articulation within each of the different parts of our central skeletal axis.

Weeks 5-8 Support for the spine
Finding support from within, from internal structure and system to energetic centres and nerve pathways. Looking at ways to find ease and to manage weight, both our own and others.

Weeks 9-12 Mobilising the spine
Working with developmental movement patterns, undulations, spirals and articulation, increasing the range of movement for the spine, opening new possibilities within the dance.
