⭐Learn movement patterns and pathways, integrated into partner work to train your body’s responses. Become aware of and acquire new knowledge of what’s potentially available!

🍃For Contact Improvisers with some experience of CI fundamentals and with some experience in the basics of ‘flying’ and ‘basing’. If you’re not sure if these workshop days are right for you, please feel free to discuss it with me.

Early Bird Tickets available until 17th February 2025. Places are limited to 25 participants, so please book early to guarantee a place.

2 helper places available & 2 supported bursary places available. If you would like to be a helper in exchange for a greatly reduced-price place or if finance is a bar to participation, please get in touch.

What I’m offering:

💫Over these two workshop days, I will share detailed, loosely choreographed movement pathways and patterns that give awareness of, and train us in, particular ways of moving and orientating. They are to delve into. We’ll start low to the ground and continue to the mid-range, and up to fully standing. We’ll travel in unusual and useful ways between these levels, and through the space, alone and together.

We will move on to pathways and reference moves for: dynamically sharing weight, inviting ‘flyers’, and ‘airborne’ pathways onto, across & around bodies.

There will be time to improvise, holding the patterns and paths as inspiration for adventures in CI.

A little context

Deep listening and freely responding in the moment are at the heart of my CI practice. However, I wouldn’t be half as free, safe or aware of options without training with a wide range of movement pathways. I’m lucky to have acquired these loose choreographies over 25 years from great CI masters, mistresses, and fellow explorers.

In my own research, working with and inspired by these pathways and patterns, I discovered and developed my own training ‘choreographies’ for my own practice. I’ve now gathered some of them together for teaching Contact Improvisers with some experience, and I’m still adding to and researching the material. It’s an ongoing process of muses, discovery, and play. I’d like to share some of the fruits of this with you.
