Hi all, we’re excited to be inviting Martin Keogh to Bristol for a 5-day intensive from the 9-13th November. This is an advanced level training for those with a strong grasp of Contact Improvisation fundamentals.

Galactic Pelvis Global Awakening Tour

Join good company on the shores of Bristol for dancing and discovery. With somatic exercises, games, some sweat, and the unique physicality of the contact body we will savor and rock the boundaries of our dances.

In this five-day intensive we will investigate the relationship of our pelvic floor to the unpremeditated dance. Contact Improvisation reveals to us that instability leads to mobility … and great instability leads to exhilarating mobility.

We begin by decelerating our sense of time to enter the details of our pelvic bowl. From here we locate our ground to dance while in the act of falling. Surprising ourselves in flight and extended follow-through. And dance we will.

This is an advanced level training for those with a strong grasp of CI fundamentals.

Price

The cost of this 5-day intensive is £170 waged, £160 part-time/freelance, £150 unwaged. A deposit of £50 (or the full amount) is needed to confirm your place.

Price does not include food or lodging – for those participants traveling from afar, we hope to host you with local dancers. You could also try airbnb.co.uk as an alternative, and perhaps cheaper and nicer way, to find a B&B.

Cancellations and Refunds: The price includes a non-refundable registration fee of £10. Full payment to be made 2 weeks prior to the start of the event. Cancellations made with at least 2 weeks notice will receive full refund less registration fee. Cancellations made with at least 1 weeks notice will receive full refund less deposit amount. If you cancel with less than a weeks notice we will keep the full amount.

To book email: saskia@contactdance.co.uk, giving a brief outline of your CI experience, and stating if you need or can offer lifts and/or accommodation. You can also join the facebook event.
