Beginner friendly pre-jam warmup class 5.30-6.30pm followed by the jam 6.45-8.30pm. Dancers can come just for the class, £5, or stay for the jam, £7.
Rolling and Spirals
In this class we will take some time to look at a few different form of rolling the body, and why this might be useful in the dance.
Slowing down and fully embodying some of the various types of rolling, we allow ourselves to become familiar with their shapes and patterns, training our muscle memory and helping each other map the pathways of the body through space.
Embracing the powerful spiral shape with in the roll we allow ourselves to move more fluidly, to explore new possibilities of movement and to respond safely when in unfamiliar territory.
