A deep mid-winter dance.
By removing the sense of sight, we are invited to rely on our other senses – touch, listening, and proprioception (the sense of where your body is in space) – to navigate the dance. Inviting us into a deep state of presence, trusting our body to guide us while attuning to ourselves and the bodies of others. Dancing blindfolded uncovers new and authentic ways of moving with ourselves and with others. Come and imerse yourself with us into a deep mid winter dance in the darkness.
Jocasta Crofts will be guiding us through this journey from waking up the eyes, how we then close them and begin to trust the’eyes’ we have all over our body. Learning to deepen into our other senses, soft feeling and intuition will guide us into a deep mid winter dance in the darkness. Participating in a blindfolded jam requires a certain level of trust and vulnerability, which can be both challenging and rewarding. We aim to make the environment as safe as possible.
Jocasta, also known as Shanti is an experienced contact improvisation teacher, a Body Mind Centering practitioner and a mother. Shanti is intuitive, playful, a tribal gatherer and a little bit witchy.
