EXPLORING CENTER with Jamus Wood

Class 1: FINDING CENTER
In this class we will start from a soft fluid place, yielding our weight to the earth. Discovering how it feels to melt into the support of the floor. Letting go and finding ways to move from a softened body. In the first part of this class we will create ‘the right conditions’ to find and move from center. Letting go of our habitual need to get somewhere and opening our beginners mind to move from sensation.
In the latter stages of the class we will take this moving center and move through a series of contact exercises working close to the ground. Using our center to move us on and around our dance partner. And ending the class with some jam time.
I start my classes promptly so please arrive in good time so we can begin together.
